Quandary has been well received in the past year, and for that we’re deeply grateful. In addition to receiving Game of the Year at the Games For Change Festival and a Silver Medal in Education at the Serious Play Awards, our free ethics game has now picked up a Gold Award from the Parents’ Choice Foundation! Their review of Quandary called it a “positive gaming experience for families, one that children will return to play on their own.” It’s a good reminder that games needn’t be played on their own, as we’ve seen lots of lively interaction and engagement take place once players are paired together to tackle learning games.
That’s why we and FableVision are excited to take the game to greater heights: All the ethical challenges you’ve come to love in Quandary are now available for free on the iTunes and Google Play Stores. We’re also unveiling a tablet-exclusive character generator, which allows players aged 13 and older, parents submitting on behalf of younger children, and teachers submitting on behalf of students to create custom characters in response to 10 brand new in-game challenges!
To celebrate the app launch, we’ve even organized a contest — contributors who create the most compelling set of characters will be rewarded a role as a designer for the next full episode of Quandary! To learn more, simply visit the Contest page on the Quandary website. We’re looking forward to seeing players flex their creative chops.
